Diana Hanitzsch is a multidisciplinary Vancouver based artist concerned with exploring relationships of different psychological situations and experiences to form and geometry. Returning to squares, pyramids and moving rollers, Diana has developed a distinct methodology to break down her human experience. Through self exploration in different environments such as Germany and Canada, Diana’s goal is to break down situations into different expressions in literal space, utilizing the language of sculpture, painting and performance. In addition, Diana is curious how figurative painting and photography can play a role in connecting to these goals as well. Fundamental in her approach is witnessing shapes and form, not only in her search to understand her current structure of thinking, but also the search for mental freedom; a lived “utopia” of positive thoughts and practise.
